This antique Victorian era bustle linen tea wrapper dress dates from the 1870s. It is made of a ecru cream colored natural linen fabric, with a white floral embroidered scalloped trim edging. There is a white eyelet lace collar and cuffs. This fabulous floor length one piece wrapper style dress has a full skirt, with long train, and bustle back with straps sewn inside for fullness to accommodate bustle. There is a draping peplum style bodice back skirt with button trim. The dress has large mother of pearl buttons down the front for closure. This extraordinary early dress has wonderful workmanship, and would have been worn for afternoon tea. The dress measures 48 inches long in the front, 60 inches long in the back train, with a 26 inch waist, 38 inch bust, and 13 inch back. It is in excellent clean wearable condition, with only two replaced buttons, and is a wonderful piece of wearable antique Victoriana textile art.
