Traina-Norell
Coral Red Silk Chiffon Dress. |

| This
vintage Traina-Norell coral red silk chiffon dress dates from the
early 1960s. It is made of a coral red silk chiffon fabric, with
a full pleated skirt. This exquisitely tailored designer sleeveless
a-line summer dress has a bow tie neckline, with fabric covered
buttons down the front for closure, and a matching fabric covered
belt. It is fully lined, and comes with a separate matching fabric
skirt slip for underneath. There is a "Traina-Norell Woolf
Brothers Kansas City" label sewn inside. Norman Norell was
a major American designer who partnered with Anthony Traina in 1941
to form the firm Traina-Norell. Norell was known for his precision
tailoring, and for using the finest imported fabrics, and thought
it better to have one really good but threadbare dress than a wardrobe
of cheap clothes. The dress measures 43 inches long, with a 24 inch
waist, and 36 inch bust. This is truly a quality made dress created
with the finest construction and style. It is in excellent clean
wearable condition, with only some slight wear and fraying to the
belt buckle fabric. $150 |
