This vintage Chinese silver cut silk summer weave jacket dates from the 1950s. It is made of a sheer shimmering silver gray cut silk summer weave fabric with a woven floral peony pattern design. The peony flower is a symbol of love and affection, and is representative of good luck, and of spring in the cycle of the four seasons. There is decorative gray and peach silk trim edging around the yoke, neck, front opening, cuffs, and bottom hemline. There are silver silk loop and button toggle front closures, and a "Made in China Size L" label sewn inside the neck. The jacket measures 24 inches long, with a 52 inch waist, and chest. It is in excellent clean wearable condition. This is a wonderful piece of wearable Chinese textile art.
