This antique Manton Canton embroidery silk piano shawl dates from the 1920s. It is made of a black silk background with colorful silk raised padded satin stitch embroidery work. There is a floral vine leaf design, with four large red roses embroidered in the four corners. The embroidery work is finely done with wonderful workmanship. There is a fabulous hand knotted macramé black silk fringe which measures 19 inches long surrounding the entire shawl with rounded corners. The shawls fabric square measures 52 by 52 inches. This quality made Manton Cantonese style Spanish Flamenco shawl is in excellent wearable condition. It is a wonderful piece of wearable textile art.
