Victorian Brown Leather Steel Cut Beaded Bow Shoes Front view.

This pair of antique Victorian Civil war era brown leather steel cut beaded bow shoes date from the 1860s. They are made of brown leather with steel cut beading and brown silk ribbon bows trimming the fronts. These beautiful beaded dance slipper shoes might have been worn to a special event ball. The shoes measure 9 1/2 inches long, 2 1/2 inches wide, with 2 1/2 inch French Louis XV high heels. They are in good condition and have been gently worn, with some minor scuffs and wear to the leather, a few missing beads and some fraying along the silk trim edging. These would make for a wonderful display piece and are a deaccession from the Montclair Art Museum.
