Early French Label White Silk Straight Sole Shoes. |

This pair of antique early French label white silk straight sole shoes date from the 1830s. They are all hand stitched and made of an off white ivory color silk fabric. These French ladies ballet slipper style flat shoes have the original white silk ribbon laces attached, squared toes and straight leather bottom soles with no left or right distinction. They are lined in white kid leather and linen, with the original paper label still attached inside of one shoe from "Jacobs Cordonnier de S.X.R.M. No. 28 Rue de la Paix, Paris" and "Duchesse d'Orleans Magasin a' Londres 2 Princes Street Hanover Square". The shoes measure 9 1/2 inches long and 2 inches wide. They are in excellent condition and look to have never been worn. These delicate slippers were probably reserved for indoor wear, evening dress, weddings or other special occasions. They are a rare and early find which are a museum deaccession. $250 |
