late Edwardian era purple velvet wide brim hat dates from 1918.
It is made of a dark purple silk velvet fabric with decorative quilted
stitching. There is a wide purple silk ribbon hat band with a large
bow on the side. This early cloche style hat has a wide brim and
deep crown which is lined in an iridescent gold silk fabric. The
hat measures 22 inches inside crown circumference and is 14 inches
across. It is in excellent clean wearable condition with only some
minor splits on the inside crown silk lining. $200 |
