This vintage Garfinckel fox fur stole and sable fur hat dates from the 1960s. Included in this set is a dyed black plush fox fur stole, lined with no label, and black silk taffeta ribbon ties on the front for closure. This small shrug style collar stole measures 32 inches long and 7 inches wide. Also included is a luxurious dark brown plush sable mink fur hat with black silk ribbon ties for securing under the chin. This beautiful bonnet style winter hat is fully lined in black satin, with a "Julius Garfinckel & Co. Washington" store label sewn inside. Garfinckel's department store specialized in clothing and accessories, and had the reputation of being the most fashionable store in Washington. On their famous Third Floor, one could buy copies of the latest fashions from Paris, or the best that American designers had to offer. The hat measures 21 inches inside circumference around the face. These fabulous fur items are both in excellent clean wearable condition with no dryness. The pelts are soft and supple with no shedding.
