vintage black straw silk ribbon cloche hat dates from the 1920s.
It is made of a round bowl shaped tightly woven black straw frame
with a wide black silk taffeta ribbon around the base. This dramatic
late teens Edwardian toque shaped early cloche style hat has a deep
round crown worn low on the head. It is fully lined with black silk,
and has a "Mc Nulty 221 Orange St. New Haven" label sewn
inside. The hat measures 23 inches in circumference inside the crown,
and is 4 inches tall. It is in excellent clean wearable condition.
