This Edwardian era black straw ladies sailor boater hat dates from 1905. It is made of a nicely woven black straw. The hat is trimmed with a black silk grosgrain ribbon hat band. This rare ladies snappy sailor sporting hat has a large round crown and wide brim. These boater style sailor hats were worn at sailing and rowing events. It is lined with an "Imported By Fairmount & Co. London" label inside the crown. The hat measures 23 inches inside crown circumference, and 44 inches outside. It is in excellent clean wearable condition, with no breaks.
