This Titanic Edwardian era Caroline Reboux black lace sequin toque hat dates from 1912. It is made of a wired frame covered with a fine black net lace. It is trimmed with tiny iridescent blue black sequins, and a silver painted feather plume. This dramatic Titanic toque oval shaped French designer hat is fully lined with black silk, and has a "Caroline Reboux 23 Rue De La Paix Paris" label sewn inside. The famous Parisian milliner Caroline Reboux made hats for the Empress Eugenie, and had a special relationship with Vionnet. She excelled at simplicity and structure. The hat measures 24 inches in circumference inside the crown, 15 inches wide, and 32 inches outside circumference. It is in excellent wearable condition, and a rare find.
