This antique Edwardian era navy blue straw velvet flower wide brim hat dates from 1915. It is made of a tightly woven dark navy blue color straw, with blue silk velvet flowers appliqued and covering the brim. There is a navy blue silk grosgrain ribbon trim bow hatband. This beautiful belle epoque summertime hat has a bulbous high crown, a slight down turned wide brim which is asymmetrical and uneven with a wider front and is lined underneath in blue silk. It is lined inside the crown in white silk, with a "Frederick Loeser & Co. Inc. Brooklyn, N.Y. Paris" store label. The hat measures 23 inches inside crown circumference and 38 inches outside. It is in excellent wearable condition.
