This antique Victorian Civil War era Corey & Stewart NJ, Lincoln style tall black beaver stovepipe top hat dates from the 1860s. It is made of a plush black felted beaver fur, with a black silk ribbon hat band trim. This dashing dapper gentlemen's opera "topper" top hat has a tall stovepipe style which was made popular by Abraham Lincoln during his presidency. It is lined inside with a red silk fabric and gold embossed lettering from "718 Broad St. Newark, N.J. Corey & Stewart" label. The hat measures 6 1/2 inches tall and is 21 inches inside crown circumference. It is in good condition, with only some minor wear, a few worn spots along the edgings and a few small dents. This is a rare American made quality early top hat!
