This pair of unworn antique Victorian era Special Merit Mauer custom made black leather high button boots date from 1900. They are made of a black supple leather. The boots have rounded toes, 9 black shoe buttons along the side for closure and low stacked wood cube heels with a platform lift bottom sole. They are stamped on the bottom "Special Merit Milwaukee Mauer Trade Mark Custom Made". The boots measure 5 1/2 inches tall, 9 inches long and 3 inches wide. These antique boots are difficult to size for today's foot, but my guess would be about a US size 5 narrow width. They are old store stock, in good wearable condition and have never been worn. These are beautiful quality made antique boots!
