early antique Chinese silk embroidered Caishui panels date from
the Qing Dynasty, Qianlong period in the late 1700s. The panels
are made of a off white silk background with silk and gold metallic
thread embroidery work. There are embroidered birds, animals and
flowers. These caishui panels are a ceremonial kerchief worn in
chaofu "court dress". They have small mirrored discs sewn
onto the bottom. The panels are each backed in a early floral chintz
fabric. They are all hand stitched and embroidered. Each panel measures
28 inches long and is 5 inches wide at the bottom and 3 inches wide
at the top. These early panels are in good condition with some fraying
along the edges and loose threads. $50 |
