Eighteenth Century Fan.

Eighteenth Century Fan Front view.

This early antique Dutch hand painted fan dates from the eighteenth century. It is made of parchment paper with a beautifully done hand painted scene of women and children threshing wheat with a sickle. There are three cartouches on the front and one on the back with hand painted flowers. The fan has carved ivory sticks and guards. There is a mother of pearl rivet at the bottom holding the fan together. This early European fan measures 11 1/2 inches long and 27 inches wide when opened. It is in excellent condition with only a few tiny rips along the top and some discoloration on the sticks and guards. This is a wonderful early example and in great condition considering it's age.
