5th Civil Rank Insignia Badge. |
| This
antique Chinese Buzi fifth rank civil official insignia badge dates
from the Qing
Dynasty. It is made
of a black silk background with silver and gold metallic couching
and blue silk embroidery work which is all hand done. The silver
pheasant appliqué is made of gold couching threads and backed
in black fabric then hand stitched onto the center with silver and
gold couching waves of water along the bottom. There are blue silk
embroidered clouds and bats done along the borders with Chinese
symbols. The red sun is on the left side representing a males badge.
This beautiful badge is backed in blue silk with a few small faint
stains. The badge measures 12 by 12 inches. It is in excellent condition.
