Silk Couching Badge Purse. |

antique Chinese silk couching badge purse dates from the 1920s.
The badges are made of a black silk background with hand embroidery
and couching work. There is a colorful silk embroidered bird in
the center, with gold metallic couching work designs surrounding
it. This pair of badges have been sewn together, and attached to
a decorative jewel encrusted gold metal frame to create a unique
purse. There is a gold chain handle strap on the top with jeweled
clasp closure. It is fully lined in a blue silk lining with pink
silk trim sewn around the inside top. The purse measures 8 by 8
inches, and is in good useable condition. There is some loose threads
from the couching work designs. This is a great piece of antique
