vintage sweetgrass natural straw basket purse dates from the 1940s.
It is all hand woven with pine needles, raffia, sweetgrass and natural
straw from the New England area. The weave is tight, and has an
intricately done delicate design. This beautiful basket style purse
has a woven handle on top for carrying, a lid with loop front and
carved mother of pearl shell button for closure. There is a oval
shaped wood bottom. The inside is fully lined in a pale pink taffeta
fabric. This stunning summer purse measures 5 1/2 inches tall, and
9 inches wide. It in excellent clean useable condition. $75 |
