Battenburg Tape Lace Net Bedspread. |
| This
antique Battenburg tap lace net bedspread dates from the 1920s.
It is made of a ecru cream colored off white net, with Battenburg
tape lace trim inserts, and edging. The battenburg tape lace is
hand stitched with connecting brides and bars done in a scrolling
floral leaf design. This lovely lace bedspread bed cover has a large
lace diamond shaped center medallion, and scalloped ruffle edge
borders. The bedspread measures 93 inches long, and 88 inches wide.
It is in good clean useable condition, with only a small mend near
the center (see bottom photo for close-up). This beautiful bedspread
is a wonderful piece of antique lace textile art, and a rare find.
