Chinese Embroidered Purse Frame Fob. |
This
antique Chinese embroidered purse frame fob dates from the late
Qing Dynasty around 1900. It is made of a basket shape design with
colorful padded silk covering on either side. The small ornamental
hanging purse frame fob is all hand stitched with tiny gold foil
edging trim, and colorful raised padded satin stitch embroidery
work floral butterfly designs. There is a crescent shaped center
cut out design done on both sides covered with a small glass pane.
There is colored tassel fringe hanging down, and a string loop on
top for attaching to a belt around the waist of a traditional Manchu
robe. It measures 5 1/2 inches long, and 5 inches wide. There is
some minor wear, and one glass pane has a crack. This is a wonderful
piece of antique Chinese textile art. $50 |
