This antique Victorian era black jet beaded strand fringe ball gown bodice dates from the 1890s. It is hand stitched, made of a black and white sheer silk fabric, with black velvet ribbon trim edging and layered box pleating white lace trim along the neckline and sleeve cuffs. It is heavily beaded, with black jet beads strung in long fringe strands sewn onto the front and back, with large faceted beads and sequins done in decorative designs. This beautiful beaded ball gown evening bodice has a rounded low scoop plunging neckline, sheer chiffon puffy sleeves, with sequin beaded ball trim accents and a black silk sash cummerbund style fitted waistband, with draping ribbon back. It is fully lined, with boning stays sewn inside and hook & eye closures down the back. The bodice measures 20 inches long, with a 30 inch waist and 40 inch bust. It is in excellent wearable condition, with only a few missing beads which are difficult to see. This is truly a wonderful piece of Victoriana beaded wearable art.
