This exquisite antique Edwardian Titanic era white linen net soutache work walking suit dress jacket and skirt dates from 1912. It is made of a white linen and sheer net fabric, with raised white soutache stitched embroidery work done in a decorative spiral scrolling design pattern. This stunning summer two piece walking suit includes a long duster style coat jacket, with an open front, toggle loop button closure, lapel collar, long full sleeves, rolled sleeve cuffs and high side slits. It is sheer and unlined. The jacket measures 33 inches long, with 34 inch hips, a 34 inch waist, 34 inch bust, 13 inch back and 26 inch long sleeves. There is a matching linen fabric long floor length full skirt, with a decorative sheer net panel strip front, bottom trim and hook closures. The skirt measures 39 inches long, with 40 inch hips and a 24 inch waist. It is in good condition, has not been cleaned, with only a few tiny age spot stains on the front shoulder and a small mended repair on the jacket back linen strip panel which is barely noticeable (see close-ups). This is truly a rare and wonderful piece of antique wearable textile art! |
