This vintage Ottoman Turkish Tugra red silk gold embroidered jacket, harem pant, belted purse outfit dates from 1920s. It is made of a dark red cotton fabric, with red silk and gold metallic threads done in tambour chain stitch embroidery work. There are embroidered paisley boteh designs, flowers, stars, crescent moons, Arabic lettering and the Tugra of Mehmed VI the 36th and last sultan of the Ottoman Empire on the back jacket, pant leg cuffs. Included in this amazing four piece outfit is an open front shirt jacket with long sleeves and no closure. The top measures 25 inches long, with a 46 inch chest. There are matching fabric loose fitting harem pants with gold lace trim leg cuffs, a side slit pocket opening and drawstring waistband. The pants measure 36 inches long with an adjustable up to 72 inch waist. There is an embroidered sash belt with no closure, measuring 36 inches long and 3 inches wide. Also included is a small pouch purse with a gold carrying strap on top and measures 5 by 5 inches. The outfit is in good condition, with only some slight underarm discoloration on the jacket and a tiny fray on the back neck. This is truly a beautiful one of a kind piece of antique Turkish textile art!
