This antique Edwardian era embroidered white cotton batiste lace dress blouse and skirt fabric dates from 1910. It is made of a sheer fine white cotton batiste fabric, with raised padded satin stitch embroidery work done in a daisy floral leaf, polka dot pattern design and lace trim. This lovely lace whitework dress is two piece, with a blouse top, scalloped edge low neckline, 3/4 length sleeves, lace ruffle trim cuffs, snap closures down the back and is sheer, unlined. The top measures 19 inches long, with a 44 inch waist and bust. There is a matching fabric long floor length tiered layered skirt, with back drape and the waistband has been removed. The skirt measures 37 inches long, with a 48 inch waist. It is in good condition, with some faint yellowing discoloration in areas and the skirt needs to be reworked since it has been taken apart. This is truly a wonderful piece of antique textile art which could be used for design and worn as a wedding gown or graduation dress! |
