Victorian Bright Blue Silk Quilted Hand Stitched Winter Petticoat Hoop Skirt. Tweet
|
This antique Victorian era bright blue silk quilted hand stitched winter petticoat hoop skirt dates from the 1850s. It is hand stitched, made of a bright royal blue color silk fabric, with quilting and cotton batting inside. This beautiful blue winter petticoat has a long floor length full skirt which would have had a crinoline hoop underneath for added fullness (hoop not included), a fitted waist with pleated gathers, 2 mother of pearl button closures on the back and is fully lined with a blue cotton fabric underneath. The skirt measures 37 inches long, with a 26 inch waist and 100 inch circumference bottom. It is in good as-is condition, with only some small discoloration white bleach spots on the skirt and a small 1 inch split in the silk fabric near the bottom front (see close-ups). This is truly a rare blue color undergarment and wonderful piece of antique Victoriana wearable art! |
