This antique cream silk pastel embroidered pink floral roses Canton piano shawl dates from the 1920s. It is made of an off white cream color silk fabric background, with colorful pastel silk raised padded satin stitch hand embroidery work. There are a variety of pastel flowers embroidered throughout with a vine leaf design, four larger varying shades of pink roses with green stamens in each corner and four more smaller ones in the center. There is a fabulous heavy hand knotted macramé cream silk fringe measuring 20 inches long surrounding the entire shawl with rounded corners. The shawls fabric square measures 52 by 52 inches. This quality made Manton Canton Chinese Cantonese style Spanish Flamenco shawl is in good as-is condition, but has not been cleaned, with several small stains scattered in areas (see close-up). This is truly a wonderful piece of wearable embroidered textile art!
