This Art Deco vintage Gage Brothers & Co. black straw ostrich feather floral net cloche hat dates from the 1920s. It is made of a tightly woven black straw, with black tulle net, a black ostrich feather plume, white silk flower, black bakelite buckle and hat pin trimmings. There is straw net wired trim on the front and along the side to give the hat height and volume. This gorgeous grand ladies cloche style hat has a slight upturned uneven small brim. There is a deep round crown fully lined in black silk, with a "Gage Brothers & Co. Chicago, Paris, New York" label sewn inside. The hat measures 23 inches inside crown circumference. It is in excellent wearable condition. $175 |
