Vintage Mexican Applique Yellow Gabardine Swing Coat. |
This unique vintage Mexican applique yellow gabardine swing coat dates from the 1940s. It is made of an old gold color dark yellow gabardine fabric, with bright colorful yarn embroidered applique trim hand sewn on both the front and back. There is a variety of Southwest, Mexican motifs. This loose fitting swing style coat has a boxy fit, side slit pockets, long full sleeves with rolled cuffs, a small peter pan style collar and a small button underneath the collar for closure, the larger button is missing from off the front neck. It is fully lined, with slight shoulder padding inside. The coat measures 34 inches long, with 68 inch hips, waist, a 48 inch bust, 17 inch back and 22 inch long sleeves. It is in excellent clean wearable condition, with only the sleeve cuffs needing to be tacked. This is truly a wonderful piece of wearable Mexican textile art. $250 |
