This antique Victorian era Little Lord Fauntleroy blue boy silk suit dates from 1890. It is made of a pale pastel baby blue silk satin fabric, with a scalloped white lace trim collar and cuffs. This charming child's classic fancy Fauntleroy young boy's suit jacket has arm hole slit openings midway down the arm, long sleeves and tiny pearl buttons, with hook & eye closures hidden underneath for closure down the front. The jacket measures 14 inches long, with a 28 inch waist, 26 inch chest, 10 inch back and 14 inch long sleeves. There is a matching fabric knee length pants, breeches, knickers, knickerbockers, with open sides, hook & eye closures. The pants measure 19 inches long, with a 11 inch inseam, 32 inch hips and 24 inch waist. The outfit is in excellent wearable condition. It was inspired by Gainsborough's Blue Boy and the Frances Hodgson Burnett book Little Lord Fauntleroy. |
