This pair of vintage Hammersmith's Art Deco red silk rhinestone heel flapper shoes date from the 1920s. They are made of a radiant red silk satin fabric, with silver metal, gold overlay rhinestone encrusted heels. These elegant evening Art Deco dance flapper shoes have a slip on slipper style, with extravagant jeweled French Louis XV heels. They are white leather lined and stamped in gold inside "Hammersmith's Houston-Galveston" size 4 AA. The shoes measure 9 inches long, 2 1/2 inches wide, with 3 inch high heels. They have been worn and danced in, with fraying along the silk sides and wear on the toes. The heels are in excellent condition, with no missing rhinestones. These are a museum deaccession from the Heritage Society at Sam Houston Park Museum in Texas and are truly a wonderful piece of wearable Art Deco shoe art.
