This pair of antique Ottoman period Egyptian purple and gold mules slipper shoes date from 1890. They are made of a purple velvet, with gold purl wire thread hand embroidery work and gold sequin beaded accents. These opulent ladies Victorian style slip-on mules slipper shoes have an open back, are velvet lined, with gold painted stucco low Louis XV heels. They come from Cairo Egypt during the Turkish Ottoman Empire. The shoes measure 9 1/2 inches long, 2 1/2 inches wide, with 1 1/4 inch high heels. They have been gently worn, with some wear to the velvet nap and tarnish to the metallic threads. These are truly a beautiful one of a kind piece of wearable antique Ottoman textile art. $100 |
