This pair of antique Victorian Civil War era black leather quilted wool winter high top lace-up boots date from the 1860s. They are made of a black wool quilted stitched fabric, with a black patent leather toe and heel trim. These wonderful winter snow boots are fully lined in a red wool fabric, with cotton batting inside for added warmth. There is brown trim edging and laces for closure down the front and hard leather bottom soles, with a low stacked cube heel. The boots measure 6 1/2 inches tall, 10 1/2 inches long and 3 inches wide. They have been gently worn, with some slight cracking on the leather toes and tiny moth nip holes on the red wool inside lining fabric (see close-up). This is a great piece of wearable art!
