This Edwardian era antique Art Nouveau hand painted silk dragonfly, water lily sequin pleated folding fan dates from 1910. It is made of a pleated sheer silk fabric, with a hand painted large beautiful blue dragonfly with tiny iridescent green sequin accents flying in the horizon and water lily flowers floating in the pond below. This fabulous folding fan has an Art Nouveau, Japonism influenced design, with painted dark blue and gold highlighted carved wooden guards, sticks, a gold brass rivet, loop ring at the bottom holding the fan together and navy blue silk ribbon for carrying. The fan measures 12 inches long and is 13 inches wide when opened. It is in good as-is condition, with a few frays on the silk backing and some rough cut edgings along the tops of the guards. This is truly a wonderful piece of Art Nouveau Japonism fan art!
