This vintage Ellessem German Alpacca silver mesh chainmail Art Nouveau floral purse dates from 1900. It is made of a Alpacca stamped German nickel silver plate mesh finely linked chainmail. This beautiful handbag purse has a a detailed engraved filigree decorative floral leaf Art Nouveau design on the front frame stamped inside "Ellessem", a ball clasp closure on top, silver chainlink strap and is sheer, unlined. The purse measures 6 by 6 inches with a 15 inch long strap. It is in good as-is condition, with only some tarnish discoloration on the back and some loose links breaks along the chainmail on the frame hinge area (see close-ups). This is truly a wonderful piece of Art Nouveau wearable handbag art!
